Mount Pleasant Tribune at Newsbank
In 1939, C. E. Palmer and his associates with The Texarkana Gazette started a daily publication in Mount Pleasant known as the Mount Pleasant Daily News. After a year and a half, the name was changed to the Titus County Tribune and became a weekly publication. Shortly thereafter, J. Frank Palmer and his sons purchased the Tribune. Eventually the paper was published twice each week and began daily publication in November of 1969. In the summer of 1972, the Palmers bought out local competitor the Mount Pleasant Daily Times and Times Review to form the Mount Pleasant Tribune.
