Covid-19 Update 03/14/20 from City Hall

COVID-19 / STAY SAFE! / STAY HOME!!

The Countywide Emergency Management Team continues to hold daily conference calls to share important information. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Very organized and aggressive COVID-19 testing protocols and procedures are in effect in Titus County. This is being directed by Titus Regional Medical Center according to federal law.
  • Federal criteria determine individuals who may or may not be tested. Results are reported from state public health officials. No entity, including TRMC, the County or the City, may share information about an individual who has tested positive.
  • At this time, there are no positive test results for a Titus County resident reported from state public health officials. Unfortunately, health officials say this most likely will change. That is why it is critical to practice social distancing.
  • Social distancing prohibits gatherings of 10 as mandated by both the County and City Declaration of Emergency. This includes in your home and public places like parks.
  • Gatherings of less than 10 must still follow social distancing recommendations of maintaining a 6-foot distance from each other.
  • Organized sports games and practices remain prohibited on City fields through April 1, and will continue to be prohibited until further notice after April 3, when the Count and City are expected to renew their Declaration of Emergencies.

For Titus County COVID-19 information, go to www.mpcity.net. You will find links to county resources, including the TRMC’s website, which has extensive information about testing and a self check. You will also find quick links to the County, Chamber of Commerce, Mount Pleasant EDC, and school district websites.
