A Message from the Mount Pleasant, Texas, City Council

(En español)

We thank every resident and each business in Mount Pleasant for doing your part to flatten the curve in our hometown during this global pandemic. We are truly experiencing a time of sacrifice personally, professionally and economically that is unprecedented. Yet each day we see so many of you doing things that make us proud to have the privilege of serving during this crisis.

We must continue to encourage each other to take every possible action that we can to keep ourselves, our family members and our friends and neighbors healthy. That includes:

  • Wearing a face mask or covering when you go out, as recommended by the CDC.
  • Practicing social distancing IF you must leave home.
  • Prohibiting gatherings of 10 or more, even at your home.
  • Following the measures outlined in the Mandatory Business Plan for keeping your employees and customers safe If your business is essential.
  • Supporting our local restaurants with your curbside, drive-through or delivery orders.

We also invite you to pause with us each day at 2 p.m. when the Downtown Bell Tower and bells at churches around town will ring for three minutes to call us "together" for prayer or reflection on behalf of our healthcare workers and first responders, and for those who are sick. You can even ring bells from your front lawns to express support for one another.

Because that is how we are going to get through COVID-19. Together.

Please contact any of us if you have questions, concerns or just want to visit with somebody outside of the house!

We’re here for you.

Mayor Tracy Craig, Sr., Mayor Pro Tem Tim Dale and Councilmembers Galen Adams, Henry Chappell, II, Sherri Spruill and Jerry Walker.

Mayor Tracy Craig, Sr., Mayor Pro Tem Tim Dale and Councilmembers Galen Adams, Henry Chappell, II, Sherri Spruill and Jerry Walker.
